Banana Almond Butter Cup Ice Cream Using a Vita-Mix 4500 and a Samson 9001
Ok, so as my addiction to raw desserts continues, I also wanted to learn how to make delicious raw vegan icecream (it’s my favorite!!). You can make some very simple recipes by blending up a banana and some almond milk, maybe some vanilla and letting it freeze (or a frozen banana and mixing in almond milk and vanilla), but here is a more complex, delicious recipe!

Ingredients:
- 1 cup cashews, soaked 1-2 hours
- 1/2 cup young coconut meat
- 1/2 cup agave
- 1.25 cups water
- 2 fresh bananas, ripe and peeled
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/4 vanilla bean, scraped out
- a pinch of salt (preferably sea salt)
- 1/2 cup coconut oil
- 3/4 cup Almond Butter Cup Pieces (see previous post for recipe)
- 1/2 cup cacao nibs
Directions:
- In a Vita-Mix, blend everything except the Almond Butter Cup Pieces and the Cacao Nibs until the mixture is very smooth.
- Stir in the cacao nibs and 1/2 to 3/4 of the almond butter cups. Put remaining almond butter cups back in the fridge.
- Spread that mixture into a parchment lined pan and make a layer that is no more than 1 inch thick. Leave the mixture to freeze.
- Once frozen, remove mixture and cut the frozen mixture into strips that will fit in your masticating juicer (set it up to homogenize- either mincing cone or open blank, no nozzle required).
- Send the frozen chunks through the juicer to homogenize and you will be left with a soft-serve like texture.
- Stir in remaining almond butter cups and enjoy! Put remainder back into the freezer.
Yields: 1 quart
Note: You need a masticating juicer to make ice cream this way. I used my Samson 9001 Juicer but any masticating juicer will do. Also, if you don’t have a juicer, you can use an icecream maker or try to stir the mixture every 3-4 hours and it freezes.
Ginger Kick with a Samson 9001 Juicer
This juice is great for your immune system and full of nutrients like bioflavonoids, vitamin A, vitamin C, magnesium, sodium, zinc and carotene (to name a few!). It can also have a cleansing effect and help to improve the health of your digestive system.
** Although parsley is full of great nutrients, it can be toxic if you drink too much of it. Make sure you don’t drink any more than 1 cup of parsley juice (pure parsley juice) per day. If you are pregnant, you should probably stay away from parsley juice all together. **
Ingredients:
- 1 bunch of parsley
- 5 carrots
- 1 – 1.5 inch ginger
- 1/2 lemon (peeled)
Steps:
- Prep the above ingredients by washing them and cutting them to a size that your juicer can handle.
- Put everything through the juicer. It’s a good idea not to leave the lemon for last and to mix the carrots in with everything else.
- Savor the goodness of ginger and parsley!

My Liver Feels Dandy with a Samson 6-in-1 Juicer

The dandelion juice in this recipe makes it an excellent cleansing juice for our liver. It also had all the advantages of nice dark leafy greens.
Ingredients:
- 1 handful of dandelion greens
- 4-5 carrots
- 1/2 cucumber
- 1/2 lime or lemon (peeled)
Instructions:
- Prep the above ingredients so they are clean and can fit in the feed tube.
- Mix the greens and cucumbers with pieces of carrots to make it easier for your juicer.
- Drink right away!
Serves: 1

Gimme My Magnesium using a Green Star Juicer

This juice is rich in vitamins and minerals but particularly magnesium, carotene and iron. It’s a great juice to drink regularly and will help improve your overall health. Give it a try and let me know how you feel about it!
Ingredients:
- 5 carrots
- 1/2 beet
- 2 stalks of celery
- 4 florets of broccoli
- 1/3 lemon (peeled)
Steps
- Rinse produce well and cut it up so it will fit down your juicer chute.
- Put the ingredients through the juicer- make sure you don’t leave the lemon for last (it’s the only soft fruit)
- Pour the juice into a glass and savor the health benefits!

Fresh Green Morning with my Samson GB 9001
I’m trying to kick my every so familiar caffeine addiction in an attempt to feel healthy again (and have whiter teeth- not gunna lie, the small aspect of vanity is definitely playing a part). I’ve been addicted (and I mean addicted- withdrawal headaches if I don’t have my morning coffee) since I was about 17. Outrageous, I know!
While I was doing my 3 day juice fast, I noticed I wasn’t getting my usual withdrawal headaches and I still felt energized and clear-minded. So, I thought I could give it a try- a genuine attempt to stop drinking coffee (regularly at least). I don’t like relying on it in the mornings and I think juicing will help me kick the addiction. So, this morning, I made myself a nice green juice that is full of vitamins and energy. It’s already 10:30 am and I still feel refreshed and energized. Give it a try and let me know what you think!
Ingredients:
- 1 tomato
- 1 celery stalk
- 1/2 cucumber
- 1 large handful of spinach
- 1 small handful of parsley
- 1/2 carrot
- 1/2 lemon (peeled)
- 1/2 inch of ginger
Directions
- Wash up the veggies and cut them into a size that is suitable for your juicer.
- Put them through your juicer, alternating hard produce with soft produce.
- Drink immediately

Punch Me Parsley Juice (Cause I Won’t Bruise!)
This juice is rich in Bioflavonoids, Vitamin C and Vitamin E to help prevent bruising. Bioflavonoids and Vitamin C help strengthen capillary walls, and Vitamin E is great for cell regeneration.
WARNING: drink this juice in moderation. Parsley juice can be toxic in large doses and should not be consumed by pregnant women. Do not drink more than 1 cup of PARSLEY juice a day (this recipe is not pure parsley juice, so you have some room when deciding on doses). Additionally, parsley juice can act as a diuretic. In moderation, it is an extremely beneficial juice, which is why this recipe mixes other fruits with parsley!
Ingredients:
- 1 large handful of parsley
- 2 large stalks of celery
- 2 carrots (green tops removed)
- 1 cucumber
- 1/2 a lemon (no peel)
Instructions:
- Wash and cut your above ingredients to fit into your juicer.
- Run through juicer
- Serve over ice (or simply straight into a glass) and enjoy immediately!
- Store any remaining juice in an air-tight container to maintain shelf-life.

Gallbladder-Liver Cleaner

- 1 beet (stems and leaves included)
- 2 carrots
- 1 cucumber
- 2 stalks of celery
- 1.5 inches of ginger
- 1 handful of parsley
- 1/3 lemon (peeled)
Directions
- Wash and chop fruits and veggies to a size that fits your juicer.
- Put all the ingredients through the juicer.
- Drink immediately after juicing and store any leftover in an air-tight container.
Cleanse My Colon

Whether you simply feel like giving your colon a nice cleanse or you are suffering from constipation, this is a great juice to encourage bowel regulation. You might want to ease into drink this juice regularly to avoid having the opposite problem that you started out with.
Ingredients:
- 1 handful of spinach
- 1 handful of parsley
- 1 green apple
- 2 carrots
- 1/2 lemon (peeled)
Directions:
- Wash and cut up the ingredients so they can fit into your feed chute.
- Juice them, mixing the carrots and apples in with the softer veggies to avoid clogs.
- Enjoy your juice immediately and store the remainder in a lidded container.

Forget drinking coffee in the mornings! One glass of this juice will have you alert and full of energy, and its much better for you than coffee! The ginger in this recipe (and other ingredients) also makes it great for your immune system.
Ingredients:
- 3 carrots
- 1 cucumber
- 1 beet
- 1/2 lemon (peeled)
- 1 1/4 inch ginger
Directions:
- Wash and prepare above ingredients to a suitable size for your juicer
- Put ingredients through your juicer, starting and ending with carrot
- Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately!
- To maintain freshness, keep any left over juice in a sealed container
*Hint*: If you find the ginger flavor too over-powering, simply put less ginger, or more carrot and lemon
