Omega 8003/8005 Juicer Review

The Omega 8003/8005 Juicer is definitely the best wheatgrass juicer around that I could find for under $300! When it runs, its surprisingly quiet. That’s because the gears are made in a special way that allows them to somehow float, which means minimal humming. When I juice fruits and vegetables, I can tell it’s doing a really good job because the pulp always comes out super dry. It makes dry pulp with greens and wheatgrass too. One downside to it though, is that it can clog up soft or pulpy fruits (like oranges). However, that seems to be a common shortcoming of masticating juicers. If you want to juice lots of citrus or pulpy fruit, you should probably just buy yourself a little citrus juicer. They’re not that expensive! Health Benefits of a Cold-Press Masticating Juicer

Masticating juicers do require some more time for juicing- they run at slower speeds and don’t have dishwasher-safe parts, so they need to be cleaned by hand. HOWEVER, if you have the time, cleaning them is really no harder than cleaning a blender, and the health benefits are excellent! Technically, the Omega 8003 and Omega 8005 juicers are considered cold-press juicers, which make the healthiest juice. That’s because the motor runs at 80 RPMs. According to experts, that speed is slow enough that it doesn’t heat up the juice while it’s being made and therefore preserves all the healthy stuff! Honestly, I’ve actually compared juice that was made from a centrifugal juicer and my Omega 8005 juicer and the juice from the definitely tasted better! So, not only is the juice healthier, it tastes better! This was a big selling point for me- health benefits and added flavor!

Another cool part about the Omega 8003/8005 juicers(and all masticating juicers with a blank screen) is that they can be used as a food processor. I just made my very own Almond and Peanut Butter mixture and it’s delicious! I’m not sure what it is, but there’s something about eating food that I’ve actually made myself that makes me enjoy it so much more! It’s so delicious! I’ve been eating it with breakfast and as part of a snack (with apples) every day for the past few days! I’m think I will need to make more soon, but it’s so easy I really don’t care! I also find the process really cool. In go some almonds and peanuts, out comes nut butter! YUM! I can’t wait to make sorbet with it!

Another great reason to buy an Omega Juicer is that they have excellent customer service! Most of their juicers come with at least a 10 year warranty and they really honor them! A friend of mine has had their juicer for around 6 years and her screen started to wear. She wasn’t sure where she could get a replacement so she emailed Omega and they sent her one for free! No questions asked! That’s great service. It makes me feel safe knowing that if anything happens to my juicer, Omega will be extremely helpful!

In summary, I would strongly recommend an Omega 8003 or Omega 8005 juicer.
